A traditional Finnish sweet bread, light and fluffy, perfect for dessert or a snack.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 12 savarini
Ingredients:
- 1 dl milk
- 20 g yeast
- 4 dl all-purpose flour
- 100 g butter or margarine
- 3 tbsp fine sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
Instructions:
1. Warm the milk until lukewarm and dissolve the yeast in it.
2. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and vanilla sugar.
3. Add melted butter or margarine to the flour mixture and stir well.
4. Incorporate the eggs and the milk-yeast mixture into the dough and knead until smooth.
5. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for about 30-40 minutes.
6. Grease a muffin tin and divide the dough among the cups, filling them about halfway.
7. Let the dough rise again for 15-20 minutes.
8. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 15-20 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
9. Let cool before serving.
