A delicious Egyptian spice blend made with nuts, seeds, and spices, perfect for dipping bread in olive oil or as a topping for tofu. Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons pine nuts - 2 tablespoons pistachios
- 2 tablespoons blanched almonds
- 2 tablespoons coriander seeds or fennel seeds
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions:
1. Toast the pine nuts, pistachios, almonds, coriander seeds (or fennel seeds), chili powder, and cumin in a skillet over medium heat for about 4 minutes, until they are golden and fragrant.2. Transfer the toasted ingredients to a blender and pulse until coarsely ground.
3. In the same skillet, toast the sesame seeds over medium heat for 1-2 minutes, until they are golden.
4. Stir the sesame seeds into the spice mixture.
5. Serve the dukkah with bread and olive oil, or use it as a topping for fish, meat, chicken, or vegetable dishes.
