A delicious focaccia bread, perfect as a side for grilled dishes or to complement salads. This recipe is easy and quick to prepare! Preparation Time: 1 hour (including rising time)
Serving Size: 8 slices
Ingredients:
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 2 dl warm water
- 1 packet (about 11 g) dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 dl olive oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp fresh herbs (e.g., rosemary or thyme)
- Sea salt flakes for topping
Instructions:
1. Dissolve the dry yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes bubbly.
2. In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and ½ dl of olive oil. Stir until the dough is smooth.
3. Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until it's elastic.
4. Cover the mixing bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30-40 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
5. Grease a baking sheet with the remaining olive oil. Pour the dough onto the sheet and press it into an even layer about 1-2 cm thick.
6. Use your fingers to create small dimples on the surface of the dough, then sprinkle with sea salt flakes and fresh herbs.
7. Let the dough rise again for 15-20 minutes.
8. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F). Bake the focaccia for about 20-25 minutes, until it is beautifully golden brown.
9. Allow it to cool slightly before serving. The focaccia is now ready to enjoy with grilled dishes or salad!
