A delicious and aromatic focaccia topped with garlic and capers. Perfect as a side dish or snack. Preparation Time: 3 hours (including rising time)
Serving Size: 8 servings
Ingredients:
- 40 g fresh yeast
- 5 g sugar
- 500 ml warm water
- 650 g all-purpose flour
- 15 g salt
- 50 g olive oil
- 3-4 garlic cloves, sliced
- 50 g capers
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (e.g., rosemary)
Instructions:
1. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it bubbles.
2. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the mixture. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
3. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
4. Grease a baking sheet with olive oil and pour the dough onto it. Spread it out evenly.
5. Make deep dimples in the dough with your fingers. Arrange the sliced garlic and capers on top.
6. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
7. Allow the focaccia to rise for another 30 minutes.
8. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (428°F) for about 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
9. Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
