Classic Tomato Basil Pasta
recipe

*A simple and flavorful pasta dish that highlights fresh tomatoes and fragrant basil. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal.*
Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings

Ingredients:

- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions:

1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes soften and release their juices.
4. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine with the tomato mixture. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
5. Remove from heat and stir in the fresh basil.
6. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
