A delicious Mallaspossu Christmas ham, perfect for your festive table. Unique flavor made from high-quality, stress-free pork. Preparation Time: 3 hours
Serving Size: Serves 10-12
Ingredients:
- 1 whole Mallaspossu Christmas ham (approx. 3-5 kg)- 2 dl water
- 2 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp rosemary
- 1 dl mustard
- 1 dl honey
- 3-4 bay leaves
Instructions:
1. Remove any skin from the ham and rinse it under cold water.2. Prepare the brine by mixing water, salt, sugar, black pepper, thyme, and rosemary. Pour the brine over the ham and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours.
3. Take the ham out of the refrigerator and rinse it again under cold water. Pat it dry with paper towels.
4. Preheat the oven to 150°C (302°F).
5. Mix the mustard and honey together. Brush the mixture over the ham and place it in a roasting pan.
6. Add bay leaves and about 1 dl of water to the roasting pan.
7. Roast the ham in the oven for about 2-2.5 hours, until the internal temperature reaches approximately 75°C (167°F).
8. Let the ham rest for about 15-20 minutes before slicing.
