Ingredients:
- 2 fish fillets (e.g., cod or haddock)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4-5 potatoes
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Peel and cut the potatoes into fries.
2. Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 180°C (350°F).
3. Boil the potatoes in salted water for about 5 minutes. Drain and dry.
4. In a bowl, mix the flour, milk, egg, salt, and pepper to make a batter.
5. Dip the fish fillets in the batter and then coat them with breadcrumbs.
6. Fry the fish fillets in the hot oil for 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
7. Fry the potatoes in the oil until they are golden brown and crispy.
8. Serve the fish and fries together, optionally with lemon wedges and tartar sauce.
