A traditional Friday treat in Britain, these delicious and crispy fish cakes are the perfect dish to kick off the weekend. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g white fish (e.g., cod or haddock)
- 100 ml all-purpose flour
- 100 ml breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 60 ml fresh parsley, chopped
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Boil the fish in a pot for about 10 minutes until cooked. Drain and let cool.
2. Flake the fish with a fork in a bowl and mix in the flour, salt, black pepper, lemon juice, and parsley.
3. Shape the mixture into patties.
4. Beat the egg in a bowl and dip the fish cakes into the egg mixture.
5. Roll the patties in breadcrumbs until fully coated.
6. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the fish cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
7. Serve the fish cakes with potatoes and salad.
