A hearty pub dish perfect for a Friday night treat. Enjoy crispy fish and fries with good company. Preparation Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:
- 500 g white fish (e.g., cod or haddock) - 1 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 dl cornmeal
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 dl beer
- 1 l oil (for frying)
- 800 g potatoes
- Salt (for seasoning)
Instructions:
1. Peel and cut the potatoes into French fries. 2. Heat the oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 180°C (350°F).
3. Prepare the batter by mixing the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the beer and mix well.
4. Dip the fish pieces into the batter and fry them in the oil for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
5. Fry the French fries in the same oil after the fish is done, for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
6. Remove the fish and fries and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil, then season with salt.
7. Serve hot with lemon wedges and mayonnaise.
