A delightful apple pie that combines soft buttery crust with sweet and tart apples, topped with a crunchy oat mixture. Perfect for fall gatherings or cozy family dinners. Preparation Time: 45 minutes
Serving Size: 8 servings
Ingredients:
- Crust:
- 180 g soft butter
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp apple cider or apple juice
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 dl rolled oats
- 2.5 dl all-purpose flour
- Filling:
- Apples or sour berries
- 1/2 dl palm/sugar or regular sugar
- Topping:
- 1/2 dl melted butter
- 1/2 dl brown sugar
- 1.5 dl rolled oats
Instructions:
1. Place soft butter in a bowl and mix in the sugar using your hands or a mixer.
2. Add the egg and beat until fluffy.
3. Combine the dry ingredients (baking powder, rolled oats, and flour) and add to the mixture.
4. Stir in the apple cider until smooth.
5. Grease a pie dish with butter and press the dough into the dish.
6. Slice the apples and arrange them on top of the dough, sprinkling sugar over the apple filling.
7. Bake in the oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 15 minutes on the lowest rack.
8. Remove the pie from the oven and mix the topping ingredients (melted butter, brown sugar, and rolled oats) together.
9. Spread the topping over the pie and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
10. Let the pie cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
