A delicious and filling Italian dish that comes together quickly and easily. This classic recipe combines the flavors of pasta, eggs, cheese, and bacon. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400 g spaghetti
- 150 g bacon or guanciale
- 2 eggs
- 100 g Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 2 cloves garlic
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in salted water according to the package instructions until al dente.
2. Meanwhile, slice the bacon or guanciale and cook it in a pan until golden brown. Add the crushed garlic cloves to the pan and sauté for a moment.
3. In a bowl, whisk the eggs and mix in the grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
4. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and reserve a little pasta water.
5. Add the hot pasta to the pan with the bacon and mix well. Remove the pan from heat.
6. Pour the egg mixture over the pasta and stir quickly to lightly cook the eggs with the residual heat. Add a bit of reserved pasta water if needed for a creamy consistency.
7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
