This delicious and beautiful gingerbread house brings Christmas cheer to your home. You can decorate it as you like and add a string of lights to bring warmth and light. Preparation Time: 2 hours (includes baking and decorating time)
Serving Size: About 10-12 servings
Ingredients:
- 200 g butter - 200 g sugar
- 1 dl syrup
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 1 tbsp cloves
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- Powdered sugar for decoration
- Colorful candies for decoration
- Small string lights (optional)
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter, sugar, and syrup in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. 2. Add the cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and baking soda to the saucepan. Mix well.
3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and gradually add the flour to the mixture. Stir until the dough is smooth.
4. Add the egg and mix the dough again.
5. Divide the dough into two parts, wrap them in plastic wrap, and place them in the refrigerator for about an hour.
6. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
7. Roll out the dough to about 0.5 cm thick. Cut out the pieces for the gingerbread house (roof, walls, door, windows) using cookie cutters.
8. Bake the gingerbread pieces in the oven for about 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown.
9. Allow the pieces to cool completely before assembling.
10. Assemble the house using icing made from powdered sugar and decorate as desired. You can add string lights inside the house.
11. Let the house dry before serving.
