A festive and delicious gingerbread house perfect for holiday decorating and enjoying.
Preparation Time: 2 hours (plus chilling time)
Serving Size: Makes 1 house
Ingredients:
- 200 g honey
- 200 g sugar
- 150 g butter
- 1 dl milk
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1.5 dl syrup
- 1.5 kg all-purpose flour
- Powdered sugar for decoration
- Colorful candies and sprinkles for decoration
Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, melt the honey, sugar, and butter over low heat. Add the milk and mix well.
2. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the spices, baking soda, salt, and syrup until smooth.
3. Gradually add the flour to the mixture, kneading until the dough is consistent.
4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
5. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
6. Roll out the dough into thin layers and cut out the pieces for the gingerbread house using cookie cutters.
7. Bake the pieces in the oven for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Allow the pieces to cool completely before decorating.
9. Decorate the gingerbread house with powdered sugar, candies, and sprinkles as desired.
10. Let the decorations dry and enjoy your festive treat!
