A fresh and flavorful appetizer that gets better with marination. Perfect for both Christmas and summer celebrations.
Preparation Time: 30 minutes + marinating
Serving Size: 4-6 people
Ingredients:
- 500 g herring
- 4 cloves garlic
- 100 ml olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 50 g fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions:
1. Clean the herring and remove their heads.
2. Mince the garlic cloves.
3. In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and minced garlic.
4. Add the herring to the marinade and stir well to ensure the fish is fully coated.
5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate to marinate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
6. Serve the herring garnished with fresh parsley.
