Ingredients:
- 0.5 kg Balkan sausage or paprika salami
- Water
- 2-5 tablespoons paprika powder
- 2-8 cloves garlic
- A generous splash of butter or oil
- 3-4 large onions
- 1 kg potatoes
Instructions:
1. Heat the butter or oil in a large pot.
2. Add the paprika powder and stir carefully to avoid burning.
3. Peel and slice the onions, then add them to the pot and sauté on low heat until they soften but do not brown.
4. If desired, add crushed garlic and stir well.
5. Add the chopped potatoes and sausage to the pot.
6. Pour in enough water to cover the ingredients, and let the soup simmer for about 30-40 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
7. Taste the soup and add salt and pepper as needed.
8. Serve hot.
