Ingredients:

- 500 g ground beef
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 100 ml mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tomato (sliced)
- 1 red onion (thinly sliced)
- Lettuce (e.g., iceberg lettuce)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying

Instructions:

1. Shape the ground beef into four patties and season with salt and pepper.
2. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
3. In the last minute of cooking, add the cheese slices on top of the patties to melt.
4. Meanwhile, lightly toast the insides of the burger buns in the pan or oven.
5. Prepare the sauce by mixing mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard together.
6. Assemble the burgers: spread the sauce on the bottom of the buns, add a lettuce leaf, the cheese-topped patty, tomato slices, and red onion.
7. Top the burgers with the bun tops and serve immediately.
