A delicious and effortless ham pasta perfect for a weeknight dinner. Preparation time is about 20 minutes. Serves 4.
Ingredients:
- 500 g pasta (e.g., penne, rigatoni, spaghetti, tagliatelle)
- 300 g thinly sliced ham (e.g., smoked ham)
- 100 g onion, diced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 50 g grated parmesan cheese (optional)
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted water until al dente. Drain, reserving a little pasta water.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until soft and translucent.
3. Add the sliced ham to the skillet and cook for a few minutes until warmed through.
4. Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet and mix well. If needed, add a little reserved pasta water to keep it moist.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve topped with grated parmesan and fresh basil if desired.
