A delicious crème brûlée that combines creamy sweetness with fresh passion fruit. It's the perfect dessert for special occasions or to brighten up any day! Preparation Time: 30 minutes + 2 hours chilling
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 200 ml heavy cream - 100 ml milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 75 g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2-3 passion fruits
- Sugar for caramelizing
Instructions:
1. Heat the cream and milk in a saucepan over medium heat until it starts to steam. Do not boil. 2. In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until light and fluffy.
3. Gradually pour the hot cream mixture into the egg yolk mixture while stirring to prevent the eggs from cooking.
4. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
5. Strain the mixture into small ramekins and place them in a baking tray.
6. Fill the baking tray with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
7. Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C (302°F) for about 30-35 minutes or until the mixture is set.
8. Let cool at room temperature, then transfer to the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
9. Before serving, cut the passion fruits in half and scoop the pulp over the crème brûlée.
10. Sprinkle sugar on top and use a kitchen torch to caramelize until golden brown.
