Delicious gluten-free crème brûlée bites made with a soft sponge cake and a cream cheese filling topped with caramelized sugar. A perfect dessert to delight any sweet tooth! Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 8 bites
Ingredients
- Sponge Cake:- 2 dl potato flour
- 1 dl sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 dl milk
- 1 dl oil
- Filling:
- 250 g cream cheese
- 2 dl heavy cream
- 1/2 dl sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 2 gelatin sheets
- 2 tbsp water
- Toppings:
- 1/2 dl sugar (for caramelizing)
Instructions
1. Prepare the sponge cake by whisking the eggs and sugar until fluffy. Mix in the potato flour and milk. Finally, add the oil and stir until smooth.2. Pour the batter into a baking pan lined with parchment paper and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 15 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
3. Allow the sponge cake to cool, then cut it into bite-sized pieces.
4. Make the filling by soaking the gelatin sheets in water. In a bowl, whip together the cream cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla sugar.
5. Heat the gelatin sheets with the water in a saucepan until dissolved. Mix it into the filling.
6. Spread the filling over the sponge cake pieces and let it set in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
7. For the topping, caramelize the sugar in a pan over medium heat until it melts and turns golden brown. Pour the melted sugar over the bites and let it cool.
8. Serve the bites chilled from the refrigerator.
