A delightful festive lunch that transports you to the charming streets of Tallinn with rich flavors and a warm atmosphere. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4 people
Ingredients:
- 400 g reindeer meat- 2 dl cream
- 1 dl red wine
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 potatoes
- 200 g carrots
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary
- 1 dl lingonberry jam
Instructions:
1. Peel and chop the potatoes and carrots. Boil them in salted water for about 15 minutes until tender.2. Heat the butter in a pan and add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until softened.
3. Add the reindeer meat to the pan and cook until beautifully browned.
4. Pour the red wine into the pan and let it simmer for a moment. Add the cream and spices (salt, black pepper, thyme, rosemary) and mix well.
5. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
6. Drain the boiled potatoes and carrots. If desired, mash the potatoes and mix in the carrots.
7. Serve the reindeer in cream sauce with mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam.
