Ingredients:

- 200 g butter
- 250 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 300 g all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 100 ml milk
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 100 g chocolate (optional)

Instructions:

1. Grease and flour a cake pan.
2. In a bowl, cream the room-temperature butter and sugar together.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the batter, alternating with the milk.
5. Stir in the vanilla sugar until the mixture is smooth.
6. If desired, melt the chocolate and fold it into the batter.
7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 30-35 minutes, or until the cake is cooked through.
8. Allow to cool before serving.
