A delicious winter dish from the Alpine regions, perfect for sharing with a glass of white wine or black tea. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4-6 people
Ingredients:
- 200 g Gruyère cheese- 200 g Emmental cheese
- 1 clove garlic
- 300 ml white wine
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- Black pepper to taste
- Bread for serving (e.g. baguette or rye bread)
Instructions:
1. Grate the Gruyère and Emmental cheeses finely.2. Halve the garlic clove and rub it on the inside of the fondue pot.
3. Pour the wine into the pot and heat over low heat.
4. Gradually add the grated cheeses to the wine, stirring continuously until the cheese is completely melted.
5. Dissolve the cornstarch in the lemon juice and add the mixture to the pot. Continue stirring until the fondue is creamy and smooth.
6. Season with black pepper to taste.
7. Serve the fondue warm with pieces of bread.
