Serving Size: 8-10 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 small Maalahden limppu, uncut- 100 ml Vilarnau Brut cava for soaking
- 200 g cream cheese
- 100 g plain yogurt
- 150 g grated cheese (e.g., Emmental or Cheddar)
- 100 g deli meats (e.g., ham or salmon)
- 100 ml fresh herbs (e.g., parsley or chives)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetables for garnish (e.g., cucumber and tomatoes)
Instructions:
1. Slice the Maalahden limppu horizontally into two or three layers.2. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, yogurt, grated cheese, salt, and pepper. Fold in the fresh herbs.
3. Soak the layers of bread with Vilarnau Brut cava.
4. Spread the cream cheese mixture on the first layer of bread and add your choice of deli meats.
5. Place the second layer of bread on top and repeat the soaking and filling process.
6. Add the final layer of bread on top and soak it as well.
7. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
8. Garnish the cake with vegetables and cut it into serving pieces before serving.
