recipe
A delicious and quick Pasta Carbonara perfect for a weeknight dinner that takes you on a culinary journey to Italy. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 250 g pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine)
- 150 g bacon or pancetta
- 2 eggs
- 50 g Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta in salted water according to the package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is boiling, fry the bacon or pancetta in a large pan over medium heat until crispy. Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for an additional minute.
3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and black pepper.
4. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it, reserving a bit of the cooking water. Add the pasta to the pan with the bacon and mix well.
5. Remove the pan from heat and quickly stir in the egg mixture, ensuring the eggs cook only from the residual heat, creating a creamy sauce.
6. If needed, add a little reserved cooking water to achieve your desired consistency.
7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
