A delightful recipe combining Spanish churros and Finnish kohomunkit, offering a sweet breakfast experience.

Ingredients

Kohomunkit:
- 2.5 dl water
- 1 dl butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 dl all-purpose flour
- 3 eggs
- Oil for frying
- Sugar for dusting
Chocolate Sauce:
- 1 dl organic heavy cream
- 2 dl boiling water
- 200 g dark chocolate
- (Vanilla sugar to taste)
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- A splash of cold water

Instructions

1. Prepare the Kohomunkit:
- In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil.
- Add flour all at once and stir vigorously until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- Remove from heat and let the dough cool slightly.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet.
- Shape the dough into strips and cut into 10 cm pieces. Fry the kohomunkit in hot oil until golden brown.
- Transfer to paper towels and sprinkle with sugar.
2. Prepare the Chocolate Sauce:
- In a saucepan, heat the cream and water until just boiling.
- Chop the dark chocolate and stir until melted.
- Sweeten with sugar (and vanilla sugar if using).
- Mix cornstarch with a splash of cold water and add to the chocolate mixture.
- Keep on low heat until the sauce thickens slightly.
3. Serve the kohomunkit warm with chocolate sauce for dipping.
