A delicious dish that combines tender lamb and a spicy filling, simmered in a juicy tomato sauce. Perfect to serve with rice or fresh bread.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g lean lamb or lamb minced meat
- ½ dl rye breadcrumbs or regular breadcrumbs
- 1 yellow or red onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 dl fresh parsley, chopped
- 400 g canned crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until they are soft.
2. Add the lamb to the skillet and brown it all over.
3. Mix in the rye breadcrumbs or regular breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, oregano, and parsley. Stir well and remove from heat.
4. Shape the mixture into small sausages or patties and place them in a baking dish.
5. Pour the crushed tomatoes over the sausages and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 30 minutes.
6. Serve warm with rice or bread.
