Ingredients:
- 500 g ground beef
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 1 large red onion
- 1 tomato
- Lettuce (e.g., iceberg)
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Shape the ground beef into four patties and season with salt and pepper.
2. Heat oil in a skillet and cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute to melt.
3. Slice the red onion and tomato.
4. Lightly toast the hamburger buns in the skillet or oven.
5. Assemble the burgers: Spread mayonnaise and mustard on the bottom bun, add lettuce, the cheese-topped patty, onion slices, and tomato. Cover with the top bun.
6. Serve immediately with fries or salad.
