Aloo Tikki is a delicious Indian vegetarian dish made from spiced potatoes. This flavorful snack is perfect as an appetizer or a side dish.Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g potatoes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
- 1/2 dl cornflour (or wheat flour)
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Peel and boil the potatoes until soft, then drain and mash them in a bowl.
2. Add the chopped onion, green chilies, ginger, coriander powder, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, salt, and chopped coriander to the mashed potatoes. Mix well.
3. Shape the mixture into small patties (about 5 cm in diameter).
4. Sprinkle cornflour over the patties to give them a crispy coating.
5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the patties on both sides until golden brown and crispy.
6. Serve warm with yogurt sauce or chutney.
