A spicy Italian pasta dish featuring rich bacon and juicy tomatoes. Quick and easy to prepare.

Ingredients:

- 300 g penne pasta
- 150 g bacon, diced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 400 g crushed tomatoes
- 50 g Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (or to taste)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions:

1. Cook the penne pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Drain the pasta, reserving a bit of the cooking water.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft.
3. Stir in the crushed garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional minute.
4. Pour the crushed tomatoes into the skillet and mix well. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
5. Add the drained pasta to the sauce and toss to combine. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved cooking water.
6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
7. Serve topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
