This delicious baguette is perfect for everyday and special occasions. It's easy to make and tastes great with butter or spreads. Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 2 baguettes
Ingredients:
- 1 dl oil
- 4 dl water (about 42°C)
- ½ tsp sugar
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 2 tsp salt
- About 10 dl flour (bread flour, wheat flour, or roll flour)
Instructions:
1. Measure the water into a bowl and add sugar and salt. Mix well.
2. Combine the dry yeast with about half of the flour and add this mixture to the water.
3. Gradually add the remaining flour to the dough until it's smooth and elastic.
4. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it’s smooth.
5. Add the oil to the dough and knead for a little longer.
6. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
7. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and divide it into two pieces.
8. Shape the dough into baguettes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
9. Cover the baguettes with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
10. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
11. Make slashes on the surface of the baguettes and bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, until they are beautifully golden brown.
12. Let cool before serving.
