Ingredients:
- 300 g pasta (e.g., spaghetti or penne)
- 400 g crushed tomatoes (canned)
- 2 tablespoons capers
- 100 g black olives, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve some pasta water.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until soft.
3. Add crushed tomatoes, capers, and sliced olives to the skillet. Mix well and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
4. Season the sauce with salt and pepper. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water.
5. Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce and mix thoroughly to coat the pasta.
6. Serve the pasta on plates and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
