Palermon Pasta
recipe
A creamy and cheesy chicken pasta bake, perfect for a comforting family meal. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Serving Size: 6 servings
Ingredients:
- 600 g chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 4 tsp chicken seasoning
- 2 tsp fine sea salt
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp oil for frying
- 50 g butter
- 50 g all-purpose flour
- 1.5 L hot water
- 2 chicken stock cubes
- 400 ml cooking cream
- 2 tsp dried tarragon
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 200 g + 100 g grated cheese (e.g., mozzarella & emmental)
- 500 g whole grain Torino cappelli pasta
Instructions:
1. Season the chicken pieces with chicken seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
2. Heat oil in a pan and quickly brown the chicken pieces in batches. Transfer to a baking dish.
3. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
4. Heat the water in a kettle. In a large pot, melt the butter, add the flour, and cook for a couple of minutes.
5. Gradually add the hot water while stirring to avoid lumps. Add the chicken stock cubes and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Stir in the cooking cream and seasonings, and bring to a boil. Mix in 2/3 of the cheese into the sauce.
7. Add the uncooked pasta to the baking dish, mix with the chicken pieces, and pour the cheese sauce over, ensuring everything is well-coated.
8. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake for about 45 minutes.
9. Let it rest briefly before serving, ideally with a healthy grated salad.
Enjoy your Palermon Pasta!
