This delicious sausage sauce pairs perfectly with buttery mashed potatoes, making it a great choice for a weeknight dinner. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400 g sausages
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 4 dl beef broth
- 1 dl heavy cream
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)
For the Buttery Mashed Potatoes:
- 800 g potatoes
- 50 g butter
- 1 dl milk
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
1. Peel and chop the onion and garlic.
2. Sauté the onion and garlic in butter in a pan until softened.
3. Add the sausages to the pan and cook until they are nicely browned.
4. Sprinkle the flour over the sausages and mix well.
5. Gradually add the beef broth while stirring continuously until the sauce thickens.
6. Pour in the cream and season with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
7. Boil the potatoes in salted water until soft. Drain the water and mash the potatoes with butter and milk. Season with salt.
8. Serve the sausage sauce over the buttery mashed potatoes and garnish with parsley if desired.
