Ingredients:
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 150 g butter
- 250 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 150 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake pan.
2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
3. Stir the sugar into the chocolate mixture until well combined.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
5. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, vanilla extract, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until smooth.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
7. Bake in the oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the cake is set. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
8. Allow the cake to cool before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or top with chocolate frosting.
