A delightful dessert that combines the flavors of cherries, chocolate, and cream in a classic European recipe.

Serving Size: 6-8 servings

Ingredients:

- 400-500 g fresh cherries
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 4 cl Kirsch liqueur
- 2 dl all-purpose flour
- 0.5 dl sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 dl milk
- 2 eggs
- 50 g dark chocolate, chopped
- A small knob of butter
- Whipped cream for serving

Instructions:

1. Halve the cherries and remove the pits. Reserve a few cherries for garnish. Place the cherries in a bowl, sprinkle with sugar and drizzle with Kirsch. Let marinate for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
2. Prepare the batter: In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Add the eggs and some of the milk, mixing until smooth. Gradually add the remaining milk and whisk thoroughly to avoid lumps. Let the batter rest for about 1 hour.
3. Drain the marinated cherries and reserve a couple of tablespoons of the liquid. Stir the liquid into the batter.
4. Grease a baking dish and arrange the cherries at the bottom. Sprinkle the chopped chocolate over the cherries, then pour the batter over the top.
5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is a beautiful golden brown.
6. Serve warm with unsweetened whipped cream.
