Ingredients:

- 500 g fresh cherries (e.g., sour cherries)
- 300 ml milk
- 3 eggs
- 100 g sugar
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp rum
- Butter (for greasing the dish)
- Powdered sugar (for serving)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. Rinse the cherries and remove the pits. You can halve them if desired.
3. Grease a baking dish with butter and arrange the cherries at the bottom of the dish.
4. In a bowl, mix the milk, eggs, sugar, flour, vanilla sugar, salt, and rum. Whisk until smooth.
5. Pour the batter over the cherries in the dish.
6. Bake the clafoutis in the oven for about 35-40 minutes, until it is golden brown and set.
7. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
