Ingredients
- 200 g butter - 2 dl sugar
- 4 eggs
- 4 dl all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 dl milk
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 200 g cream cheese
- 2 dl heavy cream
- 4 gelatin sheets
- 2 dl berries (e.g., strawberries or raspberries)
- Rose syrup (or any flavored syrup) for decoration
- Pink fondant for frosting
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cake Base: - Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry mixture to the batter alternating with the milk.
- Stir in the vanilla sugar and mix until smooth.
2. Bake the Cake:
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan.
- Bake at 175°C (350°F) for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
3. Prepare the Filling:
- Soak the gelatin sheets in cold water.
- Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form and fold it into the cream cheese.
- Melt the gelatin according to package instructions and mix it into the filling.
4. Assemble the Cake:
- Once the cake base has cooled, slice it into three layers.
- Moisten each layer with rose syrup and add a layer of cream cheese filling and berries. Repeat the layers.
5. Frost and Decorate:
- Cover the cake with fondant and decorate as desired (e.g., with balloons or small figurines).
6. Let the Cake Set:
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving.
