A delicious Daim Chocolate Cake that's perfect for birthday celebrations. This cake features a moist cocoa base and a rich Daim chocolate filling. Preparation Time: 1 hour + cooling
Serving Size: 10-12 servings
Ingredients:
- 200 g butter - 2 dl sugar
- 3 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 dl cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 dl milk
- 200 g Daim chocolate (chopped)
- 3 dl whipping cream
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Grease and flour a cake pan. 2. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
3. In a bowl, mix the sugar and melted butter.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
5. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and vanilla sugar.
6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until smooth.
7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
8. Bake in the oven for about 30-35 minutes or until the cake is done. Test for doneness with a toothpick.
9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
10. Prepare the Daim filling by whipping the cream until stiff peaks form and then fold in the chopped Daim chocolate.
11. Slice the cooled cake in half and fill the layers with the Daim cream mixture.
12. Optionally, decorate the top of the cake with extra Daim chocolate or whipped cream.
