Rye bread is a delicious and nutritious option that is perfect for breakfast or a snack. It's easy to make, and you can enjoy fresh bread right in your own kitchen.
Preparation Time: 2 hours (about 1 hour for preparation and 1 hour for baking)
Serving Size: 1 loaf
Ingredients:
- 500 g rye flour
- 250 g wheat flour
- 1.5 dl water
- 1 dl buttermilk
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp honey (or sugar)
- 1 tbsp oil
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, mix rye flour, wheat flour, and salt.
2. Dissolve the dry yeast into the flour mixture.
3. Add honey, water, buttermilk, and oil. Mix the dough well.
4. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
5. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
6. Once the dough has risen, knead it again and shape it into a loaf.
7. Place the loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
8. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
9. Bake the bread in the oven for about 45-50 minutes until it is beautifully brown and cooked through.
10. Allow the bread to cool before slicing.
