A delicious brunch treat that combines crispy bread, smoked salmon, and a perfectly fried egg. Ideal for breakfast or brunch! Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 4 slices of white bread - 100 g smoked salmon
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 slices of cheese (e.g., Emmental or Gouda)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter in it.2. Add the spinach to the skillet and sauté until slightly wilted. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
3. Spread a layer of spinach on one slice of bread, then add the smoked salmon and a slice of cheese. Top with another slice of bread.
4. Cook the sandwich in the skillet until golden brown and the cheese melts, about 3-4 minutes per side.
5. Meanwhile, fry the eggs to your liking in another pan.
6. Serve the croque madame warm with the fried egg on top.
