Delicious baked apples filled with a spiced butter mixture and baked to perfection. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 4 apples
- 60 g butter
- 60 g sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 100 ml water
- 1 tbsp strawberry or cherry jam
- 8 whole blanched almonds
Instructions:
1. Cut the tops off the apples, removing about a quarter, and scoop out the seeds.
2. In a bowl, mix together the butter, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
3. Fill the hollowed-out apples with the butter mixture and place the tops back on.
4. Arrange the apples in a baking dish and pour the water into the dish.
5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 20-25 minutes, until the apples are soft and golden brown.
6. Serve warm, optionally with the jam and almonds on the side.
