Serving Size: 8-10 servings
Ingredients:
- 200 g ready-made pie crust
- 400 ml milk
- 100 g sugar
- 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 3 eggs
- 50 g cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 50 g melted butter
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. Roll out the pie crust and line a pie dish with it. Prick the bottom with a fork.
3. Bake the pie crust in the oven for about 10 minutes, until it is slightly golden brown.
4. Meanwhile, mix milk, sugar, vanilla sugar, and vanilla extract in a saucepan. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it is almost boiling.
5. In a bowl, whisk the eggs and cornstarch together until well combined.
6. Gradually pour the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture while stirring continuously.
7. Add the melted butter to the mixture and stir well.
8. Pour the filling over the pre-baked pie crust.
9. Bake in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, until the filling is set and the top is beautifully golden brown.
10. Allow to cool before serving. Serve with whipped cream or berries if desired.
