Delicious Finnish pastries that are perfect as a snack or served with soup.
Preparation Time: 40 minutes
Serving Size: 20 pieces
Ingredients:
- 300 g mämmi
- 200 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 50 ml oil
- Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and baking powder.
2. Gradually add the flour mixture to the mämmi, mixing until combined.
3. Pour in the oil and knead the dough until smooth.
4. Let the dough rest for a few minutes.
5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1 cm thick.
6. Cut the dough into 20 strips using a pastry cutter or sharp knife.
7. Twist each strip into a spiral shape and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
8. Bake the mämmi twists in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 15 minutes.
9. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on top before baking.
