A simple and delicious Japanese salmon dish that brings a sushi experience to your home kitchen. Preparation time is about 30 minutes, and the recipe serves four.

Ingredients:

- 500 g fresh sushi-grade salmon
- 2 dl sushi rice
- 2.5 dl water
- Soy sauce
- Wasabi
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Pickled cucumbers (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice in a pot with 2.5 dl of water on low heat until all the water is absorbed. Let the rice rest covered for about 10 minutes.
2. Shape the rice into a mound in a deep serving dish.
3. Slice the fresh salmon into thin pieces and arrange them on top of the rice.
4. If desired, lightly torch the surface of the salmon using a kitchen torch.
5. Brush soy sauce over the salmon. Place a dollop of wasabi on the plate.
6. Garnish the dish with sesame seeds and pickled cucumbers.
7. Serve with sake, a semi-dry Riesling, or a quality lager.
