Description: Juicy pork meatballs simmered in a rich red wine and tomato sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients:
- 500 g ground pork
- 1 dl breadcrumbs
- 1 dl milk
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp oregano
- 2 dl crushed tomatoes
- 1 dl red wine
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. In a bowl, combine ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, crushed garlic, salt, black pepper, and oregano. Shape the mixture into round meatballs.
3. Heat olive oil in a frying pan and brown the meatballs on all sides. Transfer the meatballs to a baking dish.
4. Pour the crushed tomatoes and red wine over the meatballs in the baking dish.
5. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the oven for about 25-30 minutes.
6. Remove the dish from the oven and let it rest for a moment. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
7. Serve the meatballs with pasta or rice.
