A delicious Finnish dish filled with seasoned ground meat and rice, perfect as a snack or main course. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g ground beef - 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 dl rice
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 2 dl beef broth
- 1 packet of ready-made dough (e.g., pie dough)
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Peel and chop the onion and garlic. Sauté them in a pan with a little oil until softened. 2. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned and cooked through.
3. Cook the rice according to package instructions and then mix it with the cooked ground beef.
4. Add the egg, salt, black pepper, and paprika to the mixture. Stir well to combine.
5. Roll out the dough into a thin sheet and cut out circles.
6. Place about a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each circle.
7. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and press the edges tightly to seal.
8. Heat oil in a pan and fry the meat pies until golden brown on both sides.
9. Remove the cooked meat pies and let them drain on paper towels.
10. Serve warm and enjoy!
