A delightful Scandinavian bun filled with a rich licorice and Tosca topping.
Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 12 buns
Ingredients:
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 25 g fresh yeast
- 200 ml milk
- 100 g sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 100 g butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 200 g licorice
- 100 g Tosca topping (e.g., almond flakes and sugar)
Instructions:
1. Dissolve the yeast in warm milk.
2. Add sugar, salt, cardamom, and part of the flour. Mix well.
3. Stir in the melted butter and egg, and mix the dough until smooth.
4. Gradually add the remaining flour and knead the dough for about 10 minutes until elastic.
5. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
6. Knead the dough again and roll it out into a rectangle.
7. Spread the licorice and Tosca filling evenly over the dough.
8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into pieces.
9. Place the buns on a baking sheet and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
10. Bake at 175°C (350°F) for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
11. Let cool before serving. Enjoy!
