Serving Size: About 2 cups
Ingredients:
- 500 g plain yogurt (e.g., Greek yogurt)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)
- Spices (e.g., dried mint, garlic, or pepper, optional)
Instructions:
1. Place a clean cheesecloth or fine sieve over a bowl.
2. Pour the yogurt over the cheesecloth and sprinkle the salt on top.
3. Fold the edges of the cheesecloth over the yogurt to completely cover it.
4. Allow the yogurt to strain in the refrigerator for 24-48 hours, depending on your desired consistency. The longer it strains, the thicker it will become.
5. Once the yogurt is strained, transfer it to a bowl and mix in the olive oil and any desired spices.
6. Serve the labneh on bread or as a dip.
