A traditional Finnish reindeer stew that is hearty and full of flavor. Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g reindeer meat - 2 large potatoes
- 2 carrots
- 1 onion
- 3 dl beef broth
- 1 dl heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (e.g., rosemary or thyme)
Instructions:
1. Peel and chop the potatoes, carrots, and onion. 2. In a large pot, heat the butter and add the onion. Sauté for a moment until translucent.
3. Add the reindeer meat and lightly brown it.
4. Add the chopped potatoes and carrots to the pot.
5. Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream. Mix well.
6. Season with salt and pepper. Add the fresh herbs.
7. Cover the pot with a lid and transfer it to the oven. Cook at 180°C (350°F) for about 1.5 hours.
8. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious reindeer stew!
