Ingredients:
- 300 g pasta (e.g., spaghetti or penne)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can crushed tomatoes (about 400 g)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 50 g grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and reserve some cooking water.
2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about one minute until slightly softened.
3. Add the crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
4. Mix the cooked pasta into the sauce. Add a little reserved cooking water if needed to achieve the desired consistency.
5. Serve the pasta topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
